Research and Publications

How are education and workforce related programs serving DC residents, and how effectively?

ETEP 2026 Insight Series: Charting Wage and Industry Outcomes for DC Public and Public Charter School Students.

For the first time, using a secure, centralized source of administrative data in our P20W Data System, researchers can explore these questions and produce findings to inform District-wide programmatic and policy improvements. ETEP specifically prioritizes research publications that illuminate equity gaps and root causes of disparities to inform intentional racial equity-driven policies and practices that promote the well-being of historically marginalized communities.

Summaries, Publications and Findings From Targeted ETEP Research Initiatives

In addition to ETEP's comprehensive longitudinal research products produced through the ETE Data System, ETEP also produces a series of more targeted investigations based on surveys or other standalone data sources. These include a DC Alumni Early Career Outcomes Survey series, an overview of findings from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) in partnership with the Census Bureau, a historical analysis of workforce programs and wages, and interactive data dashboards leveraging the newly available data in the ETE data system to address key questions outlined in our research agenda and share actionable data tools.
